Both properties are designated as artist live/work spaces and represent some of the last significant artist-oriented properties in the city. They provide a combined total of 26 units where artists can both reside and create, helping preserve Laguna Beach’s identity as an artist colony amid high real estate pressures. These acquisitions stemmed from city efforts starting in 2025 to prevent the loss of these units to market forces, with the LBCLT now holding them in trust to keep them affordable long-term for artists and the broader working-class community.
